Valda and Steve Bromfield
Your Chef and Captain

Steve and Valda Bromfield will welcome you aboard the 57' catamaran Quest. Steve and Valda are both natives of Durban, on the coast of South Africa. Steve has completed two Atlantic crossings, sailing in the 1992 Cape Rio yacht race and in 1994 sailing from the Caribbean to England with Valda. Steve is a licensed RYA Yachtmaster and they have crewed together in the Caribbean for over 6 years, including positions with one of the largest charter companies in the world.

Steve and Valda are an active, sport loving couple who have been together since high school. They attended university together, both obtaining a degree in Human Resource Management. They have traveled extensively in Europe and Asia and have visited both North and South America. While in Europe they managed a deluxe ski chalet in Meribel, France and a pub in Worthing, England. They enjoy watersports such as skiing, windsurfing, snorkeling, scuba diving and of course sailing. Steve is a certified PADI Dive Instructor and will happily show you some of the pristine dive sites of the Caribbean.

Valda's menu has been influenced by her native Africa and by her sojourns in Europe and the Caribbean. She has attended a cookery course given by the Culinary Institute of America. Many national and ethnic flavors spice the table aboard Quest.

Together Steve and Valda look forward to showing you the wonders of the Caribbean.
